East Vancouver Market Update - Fall & Winter 2014
(November 18, 2014
)
The elections are over, Christmas is around the corner and the East Vancouver Real Estate Market continues to be a busy one with an increase in sales across all markets and many of you home buyers will be happy to know there are some decreases in average price.
As our real estate team at THE BC HOME HUNTER GROUP forecast the detached house market hasn’t slowed down and the condo market also saw a big increase in activity with 40% more sales than last month. The townhouse and half duplex market was also busy though nowhere near as busy as the Fraser Valley, with plenty of new inventory hitting the market (thanks to a number of newly built East Vancouver properties our real estate team are following closely).
Now that we’ve entering into November and getting closer to Christmas, many Buyers who have taken the last few months to get a sense of the market and inventory, and to secure their financing, are finally starting to jump on properties, including those that have been on the market in the past and didn’t sell originally. Conversly, many sellers have taken their overpriced listing price reductions making their properties much more attractive to securing an offer and potential sale.
