Yes you read it correctly, we are devoting an entire report on this subject just for you - next we will probably wax poetic about the etiquette of picking up your dog poop in Vancouver. An open toilet seat is not only unsanitary — it's majorly bad for your juju. How's that for a start? We realize your all on the edge of your seat so without further ado here we go.
It's a new year and the saying "out with the old, in with the new" couldn't be more relevant when it comes to your home. Now is the perfect time to breathe more life into your space, creating a happy, healthy, and welcoming environment – and that's where Feng Shui comes in.
Priya Sher, Feng Shui expert and Nectar Life Hacks host, explains: "Its principles maintain that we live in harmony with our environment. Its aim is to achieve balance in your living and working space and maximize your potential for success in all areas of your life. Literally translated, feng shui means 'wind water.' Wind scatters energy and water holds energy."

"Homes are a reflection of their occupants," "If any part is missing, neglected or has negative energy then this is reflected in the life of its occupant."
So how can we apply this philosophy to our home for a happy and successful 2018? Here are our BCHH top tips for each room and area of the house:
1. Keep your front door in tip-top shape.
So how can we apply this philosophy to our home for a happy and successful 2018? Here are our BCHH top tips for each room and area of the house:
1. Keep your front door in tip-top shape.
Your front door represents wealth and should be in perfect condition. To draw the energy to your front door, place a beautiful plant and light either side of it.
2. Tidy up your hallway.
Your hall represents opportunities. Make sure it's kept clutter-free so that the energy can circulate. Place coats and shoes inside a closed closet, so they don't stagnate the energy. To activate the beneficial chi in the hall, place a beautiful mirror and fresh flowers. Fresh flowers instantly uplift the energy of a space.

3. Don't let you stove and sink clash.
The kitchen is a vital space as its energy represents nourishment and relationship harmony for the occupants. Ensure that you don't place the sink and stove opposite each other as that can lead to arguments between couples by creating a water and fire crash. The colors in the kitchen are also an important to keep in mind – avoid too much black and red as that also causes a fire and water crash. The position of the stove is also important for the nourishment of the occupants – ensure it's not positioned under a window or directly opposite the kitchen or front door.
4. Arrange living room furniture optimally.
Make sure furniture in your the living room is proportionate to the space. Do not block any doors with furniture and position the main sofa against a wall to provide the occupants with support. To activate wealth energy, place a lamp in the corner of the room (diagonally opposite the room's door).

5. Reflect light in the dining room.
The dining room or table is an important consideration in Feng Shui as it provides a space where you can concentrate mindfully on what you are eating. In Feng Shui, the dining space relates to the spleen, which links to the element Earth, and in traditional Chinese medicine, the Earth is concerned with digestion. To optimize the energy in this space, place a mirror on the wall to reflect the dining table and place fresh flowers on the table.

6. Keep bedrooms neutral.
To encourage a restful sleep, bedrooms must be a light neutral color, and beds must have a headboard and be positioned with the headboard against a solid wall. Ideally, the bed must not be in line with the bedroom door. Place bedside tables either side of the bed to provide support. Place curvy lamps and lightly fragranced candles on the bedside table to introduce some romantic energy.

7. Don't let open toilet lids drain your wealth (we know you were waiting for this one to raise its head again).
Always keep your bathroom and powder room clean with the door closed and toilet lid down. This is the area where wealth may get drained (depending on calculations), so introduce some plants in here; plants soak in water, which slows the flow of wealth draining away.8. A tidy garden — front yard and back — is essential.
A front garden represents your future, so ensure it's always kept beautiful. Plant beautiful flowers and plants and always keep it tidy. The back garden represents both health and wealth, so ensure you want to keep in good condition too. The boundaries/fences/wall must always be well maintained to provide support to the occupants.
